Doormat care instructions

The doormats are made of coco husks. They will shed lightly with use. Because they are made of a natural material, they may have variances in colour or texture.

We strongly recommend that you keep your mat under a covered area to keep it from getting wet. The fibres will stain if exposed to direct rain or snowfall. Simply shake to remove debris or vaccuum.

Are these mats made to order?

Yes, our mats are made to order in my home studio with love and care for each customer! Typical production times are 1 week for standard designs and 1-2 weeks for custom orders.

What size should I get?

Small: 16" x 24"

Standard: 18" x 30"

Large: 24" x 35"

The small size works great if you're planning to have a layering mat underneath or a smaller entryway. The standard is the perfect in between size. It works great with layering mats as well! The large size fits perfect in front of a standard sized door.

How Long do they last?

Our doormats are meant to be a decorative element for your entryway/business. As such, the level of foot traffic and moisture they're exposed to will determine the longevity of the design. We strongly recommend you keep the mat under a covered area to prevent it from getting saturated by rain or snow. 

The doormats will last a long time if kept under a covered area. Bolder and thicker designs will last longer than thinner more intricate designs. As this is a painted product, we cannot offer a lifetime guarantee. 

Order processing

Standard doormat orders take roughly 1 week to make. Custom doormat orders take 1 - 2 weeks to make. These estimates do NOT include shipping time.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the product, refunds/exchanges are not accepted.

Please ensure you look over all of your shipping details before placing your order. If you made a mistake on your order, please be sure to notify us within 24 hours at info@theuniqueowl.ca . We cannot guarantee that changes can be made after 24 hours.

Each order will receive a tracking number. The Unique Owl is not responsible for any delays due to shipping. Please be patient with shipping providers and reach out to us if you have any problems. We offer Local Pickup in Maple Ridge, BC. You can select this option at checkout. Once your order is ready for pickup, you will receive an email with pickup information!
